The talk will provide a broad overview of the US Indo-Pacific Strategy, notably how the US strategy approaches the US-PRC-Taiwan situation and how it connects to other dynamics in the region. Dr. Hultquist will provide an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the US Indo-Pacific strategy, emphasizing the role of local and regional partnerships in producing effective deterrence. The talk will conclude with some thoughts and questions about how the US approach may or may not be changing with the incoming Trump administration.
